ClashingBlades Test
A downloadable game
0.0.0.4 version of my VS game. There is no training mode in this version, meaning you'll have to just use the arrow keys and numpad to see how things interact with blocking and parrying if you're by yourself.
*IMPORTANT* The music is not mine, its from Soul Caliber 2. A few of the sound effects are from the 3D Zelda games. Im planning to replace all of that at some point.
A work in progress computer controlled Soldier is available through "Graham", select him as player two with the arrow keys before starting OR set CPU to ON from the main menu and he will be set as player two.
The Characters Health is represented by the large red bar, their Stamina by the Blue Bar, and their Posture by the thin yellow bar. Wins are represented by the red orbs under the Health bar.
Unblockable moves are marked with a flame effect on the player doing the move. Soldiers Piercing Fang (Light into Heavy) is an unblockable move. These will go through block regardless of remaining posture but can still be parried.
On character select, press left or right to cycle through characters and up and down to cycle through stages, press Block (A Button) to select and start match.
Only the first character (Soldier) is finished (Although the Cyclopse is playable with unfinished animations), best played with Controller.
Controls:
- Menu Button: Pause Menu
- Displays Movelist, most unique moves are done by doing different actions in sequence, there are no motion inputs
- Hold Dash (B Button) to return to the main menu from the pause menu
- A/D Key or Left Stick or DPad L/R: Movement
- Locked to Forward and Backward Movement
- J Key or X Button: "Light Attack" (Represented by a Yellow Sword)
- If close enough to opponent, activates a quicker Close Light Attack
- K Key or Y Button: "Heavy Attack" (Represented by a Red Axe)
- L Key or A Button: "Block" (Represented by a Shield)
- Will block damage from most attacks but will fail if Posture bar is filled
- Pressing Forward while holding block activates a "Parry"
- Pressing Backward while holding block activates a "Grab"
- If grabbed, Light Attack before the throw activates to knock opponent away
- Throws always switch sides
- ' Key or B Button: Dash (Represented by a Green Wing)
- Cancels certain moves (Character will flash white when this is done)
- If making contact with opponent when starting forward dash, side switch
- Right Trigger: Special (Represented by Purple Star)
- Using your Special Attack generally requires half of your Stamina bar
- If pressed in block stun with at least half Stamina, Stamina is spent to push opponent far away
